O mes de Janeiro

"Due to the lack of a proper keyboard on the computer I'm on right now, this message will be transmitted in English. we apologise for any incovenience and hope to return to the proper language in the next posts. Sincerely, Ricardo's brain..."

January started in the best way possible. Running from the cops, to avoid arrest (in Matt's case) and being sent out of Aussie land (in my case)!! The fact was that we managed to find a very good spot to see the fire works in Sydney, but for some reason the cops felt that being in the side of a Highway bridge with a 5 meter drop behind us and a 40 cm ledge to walk on was not good! even so, you got to see the fire works (me and matt, 'cause janelle got lost with the rest of matt's friends after the cops, "advised us" to get out of there, and ended up in a bar until late.
The next morning was spent preparing the Barbie that Matt had planned. About 9 friends of his came around and we had a lot of fun, a lot of beer, correction: a shit lot of beer (!) and, of course... LAMB!! Also me and matt had a bit of fun playing a card trick that let everybody stunned! After heaps of fun, alcohol and sun (while I was in Sydney i went to all the beachs: manly, Maroubra, Bondai, Coogee...) it was time to say goodbye to an amazing end of december/beginning of January, and return to Melbourne.

Leaving the Sydney aeroport you first head up to the sea, as the plane gains altitude, and them turn southwest towards Melbourne. This gives you a chance to see how beautiful sydney is from the air, and all the bays and coves around it...

Returning to Melbourne a difficult mission was waiting for me. I had to culture enough parasite to go to Malawi and also to prepare a backup plan in case that one failed. That turned out to be a bit stressfull, but, even so, it was completed. In the beginning of January Teresa Pais, a friend from Portugal, came to pay a visit and stayed at my place for 3 days. Needless to say she got a turist view of the city by day and a blurred, ethanolic view of the city by night! :)

Me and my housemates get along very well, and it has been great to live with them. Football on fridays, squash on wednesdays and swimming on mondays and saturdays have been my main sport activities. Ohh.. before I forget... I also broke my glasses... no worries though 'cause i have my old ones with me! :)

So that is it... Now I'm preparing to go to malawi. I already know how to say some things in Chichewa and know of some things I will try to do while there: dive in Lake Malawi, Climb Mount Mulanje, go on a Safari and Visit Mocambique. I need to buy a camera also... i seem to have broken it also... i think i see a pattern here... LOL I should head out to Africa on the Third week of Feb, probably around my 30th birthday. What a way to go into your 30's!! :) It is the first "holy week" (when me Tiago and Daniel are all the same age) where I won't be in Portugal... I hope you guys celebrate it in style!! :D:D
